The Workplace Safety & Health Act imposes obligations on employers to implement controls to eliminate or minimise safety and health risks with a focus on systems and outcomes, rather than merely on compliance.
We comply with the relevant laws, often even going beyond what is mandated by applying our own internal health and safety standards. Indeed, our occupational health and safety standards have been consistently recognised as among the best in the industry. We achieved 3 million man-hours worked without a lost time injury in 2010 and have been a recipient of the MOM Workplace Safety & Health Performance Awards in the past 7 years (Sliver 2005-2008; Gold 2009-2011). The Health Promotion Board has also given us a Bronze award for promoting a healthy lifestyle among our employees.
