Our CARBOTHAN solution is a convenient and highly flexible nitrogen/methanol-based atmosphere system. It was designed to generate a very flexible, high-quality atmosphere for heat treatment processes such as carburizing, carbonitriding and neutral hardening of steel. It can also be applied to annealing and sintering processes.
For ease of deployment, the CARBOTHAN atmosphere system includes methanol storage and supply, flow control, innovative lancing technology for injection into the furnace, and atmosphere control (automatic, semi-automatic or manual).
A cost-effective alternative to endothermic gas systems, it allows operators to adjust the nitrogen- to- methanol ratio on demand, enabling for instance the fastest carburization with a minimal amount of internal oxidation.
